Good Job Kristin!

So, I have lost 8 pounds! I am able to fit into my size 12 jeans! woo-hoo! They are still a little tight but before I could not even get them over my thighs, so I am still excited! I just need to keep it up! My problem now is that I am getting excited and therefore lazy. I kind of think, even though it doesn't make ANY sense, that I will just keep losing weight now that I have lost some and I get complacent! I need to keep working!

Success so far!!

SO, I had my first weigh in with the Greatest Loser and I have lost 5 pounds! I am feeling awesome, still trying to work through my lazy nature and get my butt working out, but I am super happy about my five pounds! This week is Spring Break and that brings a whole new set of challenges. I don't have to be in bed early or get up early so it is going to be hard not to drink and go out to eat. I went to the grocery store today so hopefully I can just ignore all the eating out and going to bars. I still have not gone down a size, whats that all about? How long does it take? Also, my plan this week is to workout with the greatest loser every single day this body is going to be SORE! Unfortunately my laziness is threatening to interfere!
I have learned a couple of things so far: First of all, I realize that I need to eat the stuff I like but only in super moderation. For example, I have not eaten ranch dressing in weeks, except for once or twice and then I did not eat a whole vat of it, just a spoonful! It's pretty hard, though. I really like ranch! Also, a little bit of exercise go a long way. If I feel like I want to have something bad, I just make sure I workout FIRST! I used to tell myself it was cool cause I would workout later but now I know I need to do the working out first:)
I have also learned to like things that I used to hate. Like yogurt! I hated yogurt and most kinds I still hate, but I found this whipped kind and its really not bad at all. I am proud of myself!

My First Week!

It is the end of my first week! With the exception of St. Patrick's Day (which, in all honesty, could have been WAY worse) I have done awesome this week! I went to the grocery store on Sunday and made sure I had everything for every meal I needed for the week. I made all my sandwiches and put all my chicken in marinades. And then every day I had the same thing for breakfast (a granola bar), snack (yogurt), lunch (turkey sandwich on double fiber wheat bread, and sugar free jello), and dinner (grilled chicken with a salad). It was super boring, no variety at all! But, suprisingly, it really suited me. I never had to worry about what I was going to eat and whether or not I took food out of the freezer for dinner. I also stopped drinking soda this week. A LOT easier than I thought it would be! I made a big pitcher of iced tea and have just been drinking that instead.

And the results are:
I have lost 1.8 pounds! And 1/2 inch off of my waist! YAY! Actual success! Now I just need to keep it going and not screw it up! I have a tendency to do really well and feel great and then let one little thing throw me off course for months. NOT THIS TIME! I haven't had any alcohol since St. Patrick's Day, not really a big deal, I know, but usually that is my downfall.

I feel great and I have had some small success! I hope this week goes as well as last week!

So, St. Patrick's Day I was supposed to work out at Clovis West for the Greatest Loser. Instead I went to Fridays and drank! Well, that is the LAST time I am drinking until my wedding! It is going to be super hard, but I think I can do it! Tonight I am going to work out at Clovis West for the Greatest Loser. I am totally nervous cause I am so out of shape! I hope I don't throw up! Hopefully I'll be okay. I have eaten nothing but chicken and salad for dinner for the last week and turkey sandwiches for lunch...this is kinda hard. Anyway, I am leaving now! Wish me luck!

So, I have decided to join the world of blogging! I am starting the Central Valley Greatest Loser contest and I would like to be held accountable. At this point I have tried every stupid diet that has ever existed. But this time I have renewed confidence that I am going to lose weight. This blog is the tool I am going to use as a motivator as well as to hold myself accountable. My plan is to work out every day and to eat approximately 1200-1300 calories a day. I am getting married on June 27, 2009 and while I would love to say I am going to lose 70 pounds, I would just be happy with 20:) I just want to look better in my wedding dress and feel more confident in my summer clothes. So, right now I weigh 180 pounds (I know, super taboo, letting the public know my weight). My goal is to weigh 160 by my wedding. Of course, if I could lose more than that, that would be awesome too!
I am going to be doing the Body for Life nutrition plan and eating 6 small meals per day. Then I am also going to do the Body for Life workout plan as well as the Greatest Loser workout plan. I'm excited and I can't wait to look better!
